The Age Of High-End Presentations - Data Projectors
The wonderful thing about data projectors is that they can project images from a computer input, a digital camera (still or video), DVD, or a videocassette recorder onto a projection screen or wall. For the latter, it could be a necessity to amplify the volume from the projector using active speakers (speakers containing amplifier that needs to be plugged to a power source). Today, there is a wide range of ultra-portable data projectors that are small and light weight, which makes them ideal for mobile presenters. There are properties to consider when you're trying to purchase data projectors. Data projectors have two distinct screen resolutions you can choose from - SVGA and XGA. SVGA data projectors have a resolution of 800 x 600 Pixels while XGA data projectors have a greater resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Both are compatible with computer inputs of 600 x 450 pixels), SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) or XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) screen resolution. Also, three factors can be considered when deciding between data projectors - the brightness of the projector, the resolution of the projector, and the size and portability of the data projector. For the example, the latest models from Casio (XJ-S30 and XJ-S35) are only 43mm thick with rated brightness of 2000 lumens, and weighs 1.8kg. Other examples of data projectors are Toshiba's TDP-P8 that has a native resolution of 1024x768 (XGA) with brightness rated at 1500 lumens and weighs 1kg. The Infocus X3 model has a native XGA, 1600 lumens, 3000 lamp life, and has a claimed weight of 3.1kg. An addition to this list of data projectors is the Epson EMP-82 model with native resolution of 1024x768 (XGA) that uses LCD technology, 2000 lumens, and weight is 2.7kg. The LT- 25 DLP projector from NEC has a XGA resolution, brightness rate of 2200 lumens and weighs 2.0 kg. Suggested retail price for this model is $2,378. Each maker has many models and the above are only examples. |
